The Institute of Directors Recommends Blogging

The Institute of Directors has just recommend blogging as way of connecting with your customers in an interesting article they explain:

“If you want to compete, you must pursue your customer’s loyalty and pay them attention; they have many options and will move on without a second thought.”

“A blog will also enable you to build relationships with customers. Many will appreciate the chance to ask questions; others will be influenced by the feedback they read and how you respond to it. A positive comment or a problem sorted promptly can establish you as a trustworthy seller.

Sometimes you can turn a negative into a positive – by offering a prompt return for a customer who’s made the wrong choice, for example. But you’ve got to make sure you’re able to deliver what you promise, otherwise it could do you more harm than good.”

The full article can be read here. This is just the sort of thing we have been waiting for at www.Wcx.me

Brainstorming Call it Personal Development

We have been doing quite bit of debating at www.Wcx.me about the future. It is good to keep developing and brain storming ideas.

The more you brainstorm the more you are able to do it.

Blogging is a form of brain storming. As is debating a subject. With debating one can develop many more ideas and understanding of events that happen around us.

I recommend setting an hour per week to brainstorm, call it personal development.

Borrowing Money

Why do politicians think that spending more money is going to save the economy? Does George Bush or any other world leader think that they can remotely buck/control the economy.

If your economy is already broken and by that I mean that is it has stopped making money. Why borrow? The current trend in the world is than to spend more money to solve it.

Let me see if I understand it correctly?

You do not have any money,

the companies are not making any money but you want to borrow money to supposedly solve it.
I can understand the theory about borrowing money to grow a business, but borrowing money to prop up badly run companies does not sound like a business plan to me. Especially when it is Tax payer’s money. I know which way I will vote.

What would be your advice to the government?

Doing Something New

It fits quite well that when ever I Google my name the first result it shows up is Leo Cussons as legal wise. After years of building an online reputation top place for my own name has gone to someone else. But if I can not beat them then why not join them. As from October I am going to be studying Law at Lancaster in England. I was planning to do this in my forties but the opportunity arose to study it now. Of course the Wcx will be carrying on and hopefully growing too.

You will be able to follow my study as I will keep my legal journal online at www.workconnexions.com

Strategies that Health Groups Could Apply to Social Media

There are quite a lot of strategies that health groups could apply to Social media. In nut shell it is all about taking part in the discussion.

You can host a forum in your particular interest or start a group chat about products.

I would imagine that Face book/Linkedin would be a good place to start as it has a diverse audience. You can also use the advertising options available on Facebook.

You might want build a word press blog for the product (www.http://web.web.http://web.wcx.me/).

Or start a community using Ning or Drupal if you can not find a suitable relevant network.

I’m in the wrong office! I should be at Google

Just got this by email Now, this is some place to work.We already knew that working for Google had certain advantages, but, believe me, this giant of the search motor takes the welfare of its employees seriously .. as shown by this decompression (stress) capsule that is impermeable to sound and light …

Moving around: A slide allows quick access from different floors … There are also poles available … They are similar to the ones used in fire stations.

Food. Employees can eat all they want from a vast choice of food and drink.

Work Station: Each employee has at least two large screens.
There are 4-6 ‘Zooglers’ per office.

INOVATION: Large boards are available just about everywhere because

‘ideas don’t always come when seated in the office’ says one of Googles managers.

LEISURE. Pool tables, video games etc. are available in many areas. Communication… On each floor, there are private cabin areas where employees can attend to personal affairs.

Technical Support: Problem with your computer ?

No problem … Bring it to this area where drinks are available while it is being fixed …    Health: Professional masseurs (eusses) available.

REST … This room provides massage chairs that you control … while you view relaxing aquariums …

Ambiance … There are many books in this library … even some about programming !!

My questions are .. when do they work? How much do they pay to work there? And where do I send my application?

Design Time On Facebook And Other Sites

Lots of sites have gone through a redesign process this autumn. None more so than Mashable, and they are also hosting a debate over the new design of Facebook. It appears to have been done without users consent apparently. The bigger story is that with more than 100 million users, it means that 60 million – according to Facebook’s own numbers – still haven’t even tried the new site heading into its rollout. While one can accept the necessity for product development I am not sure if they have got it right. With a larger percentage of their users being female. Is it really necessary to make this change? Possible you run the risk of alienating your biggest market. If it isn’t broke than why fix it? What are you thoughts about the user interfaces and which are your favourite?
