It Started With An Idea

I was travelling recently and it sprung into my mind that all dreams or goals we may have, start life as an idea. If we like it, we develop it. Slowly at first and just in our minds. At a certain point we may tell some friends. If they like it too it grows a bit more. If it is really good the sky is the limit.

We are constantly creating our own lives, businesses, and enjoyment.
If you can dream it you can do it and more to the point probably should be doing it.

Brainstorming Call it Personal Development

We have been doing quite bit of debating at www.Wcx.me about the future. It is good to keep developing and brain storming ideas.

The more you brainstorm the more you are able to do it.

Blogging is a form of brain storming. As is debating a subject. With debating one can develop many more ideas and understanding of events that happen around us.

I recommend setting an hour per week to brainstorm, call it personal development.

Blogging to Assess an Employees Performance

A couple of years ago I was applying for a job by a company in the UK. After the usual first get to know you meeting. They asked me to write a report about their website and what I thought about it.

I knew that this was a part of the job interview process so I wrote as honestly and as diplomatically as I could. Back then, I did not blog at all. Writing is not an obvious choice for me, I am much better orally speaking. I know why that is so, having kept a blog for over a year now. I am beginning to understand why writing is entirely different from speaking. It uses different parts of the brain. Which parts I am not entirely sure, but the more you activate a brain center the better it will perform. It is not as easy as it looks, but then again neither is it that hard. Without doubt, it does wonders for any plan to be able to take the effort to set it out on paper before you take any steps to put a plan into action. In fact I would even go so far to say that if we to do that with all important decisions in our life we would probably have a very different view point and live very different and probably richer lives, qualitatively speaking. If you are going to assess your employees on their writing skills you will have to create the right atmosphere. A free mind can develop very quickly (in children) unfortunately somewhat slower as an adult. So it is important that the employees do not feel that they have to write in certain way. Indeed that would be against the very essence of blogging. Forget having brain storming sessions, ask each employee to write something for you instead, that is a least the ones that cannot justify a better use of there of time than picking their nose. You will be amazed what you find…. this of course assuming that you have the more or less total confidence of your staff.

Doing Something New

It fits quite well that when ever I Google my name the first result it shows up is Leo Cussons as legal wise. After years of building an online reputation top place for my own name has gone to someone else. But if I can not beat them then why not join them. As from October I am going to be studying Law at Lancaster in England. I was planning to do this in my forties but the opportunity arose to study it now. Of course the Wcx will be carrying on and hopefully growing too.

You will be able to follow my study as I will keep my legal journal online at www.workconnexions.com

Strategies that Health Groups Could Apply to Social Media

There are quite a lot of strategies that health groups could apply to Social media. In nut shell it is all about taking part in the discussion.

You can host a forum in your particular interest or start a group chat about products.

I would imagine that Face book/Linkedin would be a good place to start as it has a diverse audience. You can also use the advertising options available on Facebook.

You might want build a word press blog for the product (www.http://web.web.http://web.wcx.me/).

Or start a community using Ning or Drupal if you can not find a suitable relevant network.

How to Set Up Your Own Social Networking Site

There are some key factors that one will need to consider if they want t set up their own networking site. This is best explained by the Night Rider comparison. Face book has managed to amass over 6,000 people that are interested in the eighties Hit TV show Night Rider. It has its own Night Rider page. When the original star of the program, David Hasselhoff, heard about this, he decided to start his own net working site and cash in on the shows staying popularity.

What does this teach us about networking?

1. If you are a member of a group or share a passion, you can start own Networking site. A group of people with similar interest is an important ingredient in setting up Networking site.
2. If you lead this by setting up such a site, you can than reap the rewards and/or advertising and related products.

I do see many more companies setting up there own networks where you can interact with the company. As the value to social networking is in the people. Why would any company want to source that out? Especially considering that software is readily available for such endeavours. What sites can you imagine?
